NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION CDBG FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016
Citizens’ Ideas Wanted on Community Development Block Grant
In April 2016, the Southampton Housing Authority, on behalf of the Town of Southampton, expects to receive approximately $111,744.00 in Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds. These funds may be used, and have been previously used for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials.
Eligible Activities Include:
Acquisition and demolition of blighted property
Housing Rehabilitation
Elimination of physical barriers for the handicapped
Public facilities and improvements
Street reconstruction
Public water projects
Economic Development
Public Services (limited to 15%) – requires application*
Town of Southampton residents are invited to attend this public hearing on November 12 , 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at the Southampton Housing Authority Community Room, 57 Springville Road, Unit 34A, Hampton Bays, NY to express citizens’ views on the local community development needs to be met with these funds.
*All public service applications must be post marked to the TSHA by November 5, 2015. No application will be accepted by mail post marked after the November 5th. In person public service grant applications will only be accepted at the public hearing.
Please be aware that the Home Improvement Program funding is limited and applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
